Maheshkhali gas cylinder blast kills 2

A man and a woman were killed and three others injured when a gas cylinder exploded in Adinath temple fair in Maheshkhali of Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday morning.

Identities of the deceased could not known immediately as their bodies were damaged severely. Police, however, guess the deceased might be husband and wife and they used to sell baloons. The injured are Anjali Rani Dey, 35, Nirab Pal, 10, and Idul Dey, 22.

A gas cylinder to blow balloon exploded at around 10:15am, leaving the duo dead on the spot, said Maheshkhali police station officer in-charge Pradip Kumar Das.

On information, police rescued the injured and rushed them to Maheshkhali upazila health complex.

The dead bodies were sent to Cox’s Bazar sadar hospital morgue.
