Two more accused allegedly involved in the murder of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi were arrested on Tuesday night, said Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).

A team of PBI arrested Kamrun Nahar Moni from Feni town and Md Shariful Islam alias Sharif from Kamrangirchar in Dhaka.

It is alleged that Moni is one the five burkha clad people who took part in setting Nusrat on fire for filing a case against the principal of Sonagazi Senior Fazil Madrasa Siraj Ud Doula.

Two of the main accused -- Nur Uddin and Shahadat Hossain Shamim -- gave confessional statements before the court under section 164 of CRPC on Sunday. They mentioned the names of Kamrun Nahar Moni and Shariful Islam.

PBI inspector Md Shah Alam told Prothom Alo they produced Moni and Sharif before the court of Feni senior judicial magistrate Sharafuddin Ahmed seeking 10-day remands for each.

The court however granted five-day remand to Moni after holding hearing.

As of Wednesday, police arrested 17 people, including seven accused, in connection with the murder of Nusrat.
