The low over northwest Bay and adjoining areas now lies over Gangetic West Bengal of India and adjoining areas of Bangladesh, says a special bulletin of Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Tuesday.

Under the influence of the low, deep convection is taking place over North Bay. Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining Coastal areas of Bangladesh.

The BMD bulletin advised the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no. 3.

It also asked all the fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
