The victim is Asma Akter, 17, daughter of Abdur Razzaque of Panchagarh Sadar upazila, reports news agency UNB.

After a postmortem examination, Pradip Biswash of Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s forensic department said they found evidence of rape.

“She was strangled to death,” he said.

“There were several injury marks on the body,” Pradip added.
