BSF firing injures 10 Bangladeshis

At least 10 Bangladeshis were injured as members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) fired rubber bullets on them along Khanpur border in Poba upazila of Rajshahi on Monday morning, reports UNB.

Locals said a group of labourers were working in a field inside the Bangladeshi territory when BSF men in a truck fired rubber bullets at them around 11:00am, injuring 10 people.

The injured were identified as Rubel, Dolar, Jitu, Suruj, Sujon, Sumon, Sohel, Rumon, Rabiul and Dulal.

Lt col Ferdous Ziauddin Mahmud of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion-1 said some locals went to the bordering area to cut grasses when BSF men fired rubber bullets at them.

BGB has sent a letter to BSF protesting the incident, he said.
