Protesting students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Sunday threatened to go on a tougher movement if their vice-chancellor Farzana Islam does not step down within 1 October, reports UNB.

Mohammad Didar, general secretary of JU unit Samajtantrik Chhatra Front, came up with the announcement after observing a one-hour 'black flag' demonstration on the campus.

Terming the VC 'corrupt', the students under the banner of 'Jahangirnagar Against Corruption' gathered in front of the Shaheed Minar of the university around 1:00pm and showed the 'black flag' to the VC.

They also announced to observe the 'black flag' demonstration on the campus every day during the admission test of the university.

On 18 September, the protesters declared its VC 'persona non grata' for her alleged involvement in corruption and irregularities in development projects of the university.
