Rain, drop in temperature likely

Light to moderate fog may occur at some places over the country during late night to morning

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Wednesday predicted rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country, reports BSS.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal Chattogram divisions,” a met release said in its 24-hour forecast issued this morning.

Light to moderate fog may occur at some places over the country during late night to morning, it said.

Night temperature may fall 1-2 degrees Celsius and day temperature may fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the country.

Trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to Northeast Bay.

Country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 30.0 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda and minimum temperature today was 14.0 degrees Celsius at Feni.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00am today was recorded 9 millimeters (mm) at Chauadanga.
