12 to get RU deans award

The authorities of Rajshahi University Arts faculty have selected a total of 12 students from different departments of the faculty for 'Dean's Award-2018' for their outstanding results in BA honours examination in 2016.

The university introduced the award from this year to create a competitive environment among the students as well as for recognising their merits, said RU Arts Faculty Dean Professor FMAH Taqui at a press conference at his office on Wednesday.

RU Vice-chancellor Professor M Abdus Sobhan will hand over the awards as a chief guest at a ceremony to be held on April 26.

RU Pro-vice chancellor Professor Ananda Kumar Saha and Treasurer Professor AKM Mostafizur Rahman will address the ceremony as special guests.

The selected students are: Shima Khatun of Philosophy department, Syed Naimur Rahman Shohel of History, Irtifa Hasan of English, Monju Rani Das of Bangla, Jannati Kownain Keya of Islamic History and Culture, Mohammad Abul Futuh of Arabic, Md Asraful Islam of Islamic Studies, Joysree Pal of Music, Jint Ara Gulsana Marzia of Theatre, Kabita Aktar of Persian, Nazrina Aktar of Sanskrit and Nur Mohammad of Urdu department.
