JU hosts national science fest

The two-day ‘3rd National Science Festival-2019’ concluded at Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Saturday, reports UNB.

With the slogan ‘Think scientifically, expose your ability’, Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC), a science-based social organisation of the university, organised the festival on the Zahir Raihan auditorium premises.

On the concluding day, a robotics workshop was held in the morning.

Besides, JUSC members conducted a career guideline programme for the school and college level students where over 1,000 students took part.

Prizes were distributed among the contestants who took part in different science-based competitions.

JU treasurer professor Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq addressed the prize-giving session as the chief guest with JUSC president Khondokar Oliullah Sa’ad in the chair.

JUSC chief advisor professor Md Khabir Uddin and noted mosquito researcher professor Kabirul Bashar of Zoology department were present as special guests.

A total of 60 prizes were awarded to the winners in different competitive events which were held on Friday, the beginning day of the festival.

Contestants presented different innovative ideas and thoughts through their projects and poster presentations.
