Book fair begins at IU

A three-day book fair marking the language movement will begin at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The university authorities have chalked out elaborate programmes, including discussions, hoisting of national flag and cultural events on the occasion of International Mother Language Day on 21 February.

IU vice-chancellor professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari will address the inaugural session as chief guest while short story writer professor Hasan Azizul Huq of Rajshahi University will be present there as chief discussant.

IU pro-vice-chancellor professor M Shahinoor Rahman, would presided over the function where IU treasurer professor M Selim Toha will be the special guest.

All the necessary preparations have already been taken to hold the fair in a peaceful atmosphere, IU vice-chancellor professor Rashid Askari said.
