The authorities have held examinations for the banking diploma course of bankers allegedly based on leaked question-papers.
Bankers sat the examination for the management accounting course in the diploma second part on Friday, but allegation was rife that the question paper for the exam started reaching the examinees since Thursday afternoon.
Prothom Alo had obtained a copy of the question paper on Thursday night and sent them to Bangladesh Bank spokesman Subhankar Saha and the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (IBB) secretary general, Mohammad Nowshad Ali Chowdhury and they requested the daily to wait till morning.
But it was found on Friday that the question paper Prothom Alo had obtained on Thursday is similar to the question paper based on which the authorities held the exam.
IBB, a professional body of banks and financial institutions operated under the supervision of country’s central bank -Bangladesh Bank, runs diploma courses for professionals in the banking sector.
The IBB secretary general claimed that all of the questions of the question-paper are not leaked.
“A meeting to be held on Sunday will take a decision if the exam will be scrapped. We are investigating as to how the question-paper was leaked, he added.
The banking diploma is a prerequisite for the bankers for their promotions and the permanence of their jobs. Bangladesh Bank officials must obtain the banking diploma.
