Former chairman of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Ghulam Rahman on Tuesday took over as the president of Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB).
Ghulam Rahman served as the ACC chairman for four years from June 24, 2009 to June 23, 2013. Earlier, he was the chairman of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC).
Founded in 1978, CAB is a non-government and non-profit voluntary organisation dedicated to the protection and promotion of consumers' rights and interests in the country.
It has 500 regular and 100 associate members. Its mission is to empower consumers with the knowledge and skills for the effective protection of their rights and interests.
Former CAB president Quazi Faruque died on July 16 last.
