Man beaten dead for Tk15,000 loan!

A man was beaten to death over a loan of Tk 15,000 his brother-in-law took from a local moneylender in Sujanagar in the district on Sunday night.
The dead was identified as Kashi Nath Halder, 50, son of Sannashi Halder of Bhabanipur.

Kashi's brother-in-law (wife's brother) Patan Halder went away to India after taking Tk 15,000 on interest from Abul Hashem a year ago, said the victim's son. He neither paid the principal amount nor the interest during the period.

Hashem had been creating pressure on the victim for get back his money. On Sunday night, there was an altercation between them over the issue.

At one stage, Hashem and his accomplice started beating Kashi, leaving him severely injured.

Kashi was declared dead by the on-duty doctor after when he was taken to the Upazila Health Complex.
