Zakir Hossain made acting SC registrar general

Acting chief justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah on Tuesday made Supreme Court Appellate Division registrar Md. Zakir Hossain acting registrar general of the division of the SC.

A circular signed by deputy registrar James Richard Cruz said Zakir Hossain will perform additional functions of the registrar general alongside his regular duties until the next order.

Besides, the SC has recommended appointment in six of its posts.

Chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha’s private secretary Anisur Rahman, registrar general Syed Aminul Islam and several other SC officials were transferred in two days of the departure of Sinha.

Chief justice SK Sinha flew for Australia on 13 October night after he was granted one -month's leave by the president. The law minister earlier said the chief justice applied for the leave on health grounds while SK Sinha himself later said he was completely well.
