Restrictions relaxed from 14 July midnight
The government has relaxed ongoing restrictions, imposed to stem the rise of novel coronavirus infection in the country, from 14 July midnight to 23 July morning on the occasion of Eid ul Azha on 21 July.
The cabinet division has published a gazette to this end on Tuesday.
Strict restrictions would be resumed again from 6:00am on 23 July and continue till 5 August midnight.
The new decision means that public transport would operate from 14 July while shops and other services would reopen on condition of following strict health guidelines.
The government imposed strict restrictions on 1 July for one week and extended it again up to 14 July.
Bangladesh is grappling with Covid-19 cases and deaths. The country reported 220 Covid-19 deaths and the highest-ever 13,768 cases on Monday.
