Bangladesh wins big at Jaipur Film Festival

Bangladesh won top honour at the prestigious 7th Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF), bagging three major awards.
Actress Sohana Saba recieved the Best Actress award in the feature film category for her role in movie Brihannala. Murad Parvez won the Best Screenwriter award for the same movie.
The Best Newcomer Director award went to Abu Shahed Emon for his directorial debut in Jalaler Golpo.
The award ceremony took place at the Golcha Theatre of Jaipur yesterday, Saturday.
Elated by her JIFF win and that of her husband Murad, Sohana Saba said over the phone, "This is a big achievement for Brihannala. We couldn't be happier."
Murad Parvez said, "We earned raves for Brihannala after it was screened at JIIF."
Afganistan's Jamshid Mahmudi won the Golden Camel award for the best director of the festival for his movie A Few Cubic Meters of Love.
Legendary Indian Actor Dilip Kumar and Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi were conferred Lifetime Achievement Awards for their contribution to cinema.
The festival was held from February 1-5 at the Golcha Theatre of Jaipur, India. US, Sweden, Iran, France, Israel, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and Australia participated in various categories along with Bangladesh, India and Afghanistan.
