Dui Prithibi shouldn’t have been released now: Shakib

After a long halt, Shakib Khan-starred Dui Prithibi has been released. However, Shakib is not happy about it. He talked to Prothom Alo regarding his frustrations with this movie.

Dui Prithibi has been released finally.

Yes, it was released after quite a long halt. However, I think this was not the right time for this movie to be released.

Why?

Whenever any movie hits theater before Ramadan, people tend to pay less attention to those. In my 15-year career, not a single movie was released before Ramadan. I don’t understand the reasoning behind releasing Dui Prithibi in such an unfavourable time.

The shooting of this movie began three years ago. Why did it get delayed for so long?
The production house Sandhani Kothachitra took on four projects, including Dui Prithibi, three years ago, and completed one movie at a time. Dui Prithibi got delayed in that process. The movie was completed only two months ago.
Can this delay affect the viewers?
Sure it can. If you take a long halt after already shooting a few bits, it’s hard to maintain continuity in terms of getup and locations. All these issues ultimately end up affecting the quality of the movie, which never goes unnoticed by the viewers.
Will any new movie of yours be released in the upcoming Eid?
A few of my projects are almost done, two of which would probably hit the theaters. The movies are - Love Marriage and Aro Bhalobashbo Tomay.
