The joint productions -- 'Nabab' and 'Boss-2' -- are set to be released in cinema halls across the country this Eid as the films were given censor certificates last Wednesday.
Bangladesh Censor Board secretary Nasir Uddin Dilu told this to Prothom Alo.
The films became the talk of film town when 14 film related organisations urged the government not to give censor certificates to the joint productions.
Some artistes, producers and directors of the Bangladesh film industry staged protest progammes in the city after the films' trailers and songs went online.
The protesters claimed that 'Nabab', featuring Shakib Khan, and 'Boss-2' featuring Nusrat Faria, did not follow the country's joint-production rules.
Despite the controversies, the two joint productions finally got the censor board's nod.
Bangladesh production house Jaaz Multimedia produced 'Nabab', 'Boss-2' films for the Bangladesh part.
Chief of the production house, Abdul Aziz said, "We have shot the films following joint production rules. The enthusiasm after the release of the films' trailers and songs give us strength. Even the cinema owners are interested in the films."
"We are really happy to present the films to the audience," he added.
Jeetz Fimlworks Private Limited funded the Indian part of the 'Boss-2'.
Apart from Nusrat Faria, Indian actor Jeet and Subhasree will star in the film.
Joydeep Mukharjee directed the film 'Nabab', featuring Shakib Khan and India's Shuvosree.
Bangladesh's Amit Hasan, India's Rajatav Dutta, Meghla, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Kharaj Mukharji will also star in the film.
One of the protesters, Misa Sawdagar, said, "We are not against the joint production. Rather we say the joint production must be made following government's rules of a joint production."
