Indian woman dies at Benapole check post

A 51-year-old Indian woman died of “stroke” while waiting in a queue for international passengers at Benapole check post in Jashore on Tuesday, reports news agency UNB.

The deceased was identified as Biplabi Das, wife of a certain Rabitosh from Phoolbagan area in India’s West Bengal, said her nephew Shanto Chandra Dey.

The incident occurred around 10 am when Biplabi was waiting at the exit side of the Benapole passenger terminal.

Shanto Chandra said they came to Bangladesh to visit some relatives and was waiting in the queue for a long time to complete the custom immigration work at the terminal to return to India.

At one point my aunt said she was feeling unwell and fell unconscious, he said.

When she was taken to Nabharan upazila health complex, duty physician declared her dead, said Abul Kalam Azad, in charge Benapole checkpost immigration.
