Four killed, several injured in two road crashes

Four people were killed and four others injured in road accidents in Gazipur and Chattogram districts on Wednesday night and early Thursday.

In Gazipur, two people were killed and two others injured when a truck hit a human hauler on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Rangila Bazar in Sreepur upazila early Thursday, reports UNB.

The identities of the deceased could not be known as yet.

The accident took place around 1:30am when the Mawna-bound truck hit the onion-laden human hauler, leaving a passenger of the human hauler dead on the spot and three others injured, said Delwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sreepur police station.

The injured were taken to Sreepurupazila health complex where doctors declared another passenger dead.

In Chattogram, two people were killed and two others injured when a truck collided with a CNG run auto-rickshaw at Mansa Badamtala in Patia upazila on Wednesday night.

One of the deceased is Ali Bahadur, 58, son of Abdus Salam of the upazila while the identity of another deceased could not be known yet.

Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Patia crossing highway police camp, said a truck collided with the auto-rickshaw while it was heading towards Mansartek area around 11:45pm, leaving four people injured.

Of them, two died on way to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital.
