Highest air pollution found in Gazipur, lowest in Madaripur: Study

The highest air pollution has been measured in Gazipur while the lowest in Madaripur, according to a study.

Centre for Atmospheric Pollution Studies (CAPS) at Stamford University on Thursday unveiled 'Air pollution study at 64 districts-2021' at the National Press Club.

A team of 81 members of CAPS prepared this study examining the presence of particulates of air at 3,163 places in 64 districts across the country.

Science faculty dean and chief of the research team Ahmad Kamruzzaman Majumder presented the report.

CAPS examined the quality of particles between 6 January and 6 April 2021. Later the scientific analysis was conducted.

According to the environment department, the daily ideal quality of particle in the air is 65 micrograms.

As per the study, the presence of particles in Gazipur air is 263.51 micrograms while it is 49.08 microgram in Madaripur.

Although the highest air pollution is detected in Gazipur in the district-based study while the highest air pollution is detected in Dhaka in the city-based study.
