
At least 10 people were killed in separate road crashes in Sirajganj and Gopalganj districts on Thursday.
In Sirajganj, three of a family among four were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a microbus on Dhaka-Bogra highway in Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj district early Thursday.
The deceased are Solaiman Hossain, 65, Lipi Begum, 35, Sagar Hossain, 12, hailing from Bogra's Kahalu upazila, and the microbus driver, Abdul Khalek, 35.
Police said the deceased were passengers of the microbus.
Police and local people said the Dhaka-bound microbus from Bogra was hit by a bus from the front in Ghutka Bazar area of the upazila, leaving four people dead on the spot.
Hatikumrul Highway Police officer-in-charge Abdul Kader Zilani said three of the four deceased are of a family.
A UNB reports said six people were also killed when a bus rammed a microbus at Gerekhola area in Kashiani upazila of in Gopalganj on Thursday morning.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Saidur Rahman Khan, superintendent of Gopalganj police, said the accident took place around 9:45am when a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Sheba Greenline Paribahan’ hit a microbus coming from opposite direction, leaving six microbus passengers dead on the spot.
