The disaster management and relief minister, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, has said the government is allocating some 2,500 acres of land for the Rohingya people fleeing atrocities of the Myanmar army.
Talking to newsmen after visiting a Rohingya refugee camp at Noapara in Teknaf on Saturday, the minister also said Rohingyas coming from Myanmar will be registered through biometric identifier.
He said the fleeing Rohingyas have been given shelter on humanitarian grounds on the instruction of prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Pressures are being mounted on Myanmar to immediately solve the crisis. The crisis will be solved,” said the minister.
Besides, four more Rohingyas, including a woman and a child, who have crossed the border with bullet wounds, entered Bangladesh Friday night.
The injured - Amena Khatun, 26, Abdul Karim, 22, Iman Sharif, 20, and Md Sohel, 8, - were admitted to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex. They are residents of Khoyarbil village of Rachhidong of Rakhine state.
