PM Hasina releases stamp on Victory Day

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday released a commemorative postage stamp, a first-day cover and a data card, marking the 49th Victory Day.

The prime minister released the stamp and the first-day cover of Tk 10 and the data card of Tk 5 at her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital this afternoon.

A special canceller was used on the occasion.

Liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Haque, post and telecommunication minister Mustafa Jabbar, post and telecommunication secretary Nur-ur-Rahman and Bangladesh Post Office director general Sudhangshu Shekhar Bhadra were present on the occasion, among others.

The sale of stamp, first-day cover and data card started from Philatelic Bureau of Dhaka GPO today and those will be available at other GPOs and head post offices across the country later.

There is also an arrangement for special canceller in four GPOs to be used for the first-day cover.
