
Bangladesh Environment Lawyers Association (Bela) chief executive Syeda Rizwana Hasan's husband Abu Bakar Siddique on Friday gave deposition before a magistrate court in Narayanganj in connection with his abduction.
Abu Bakar went out of the court building about 2:45pm after giving his deposition with his wife Syeda Rizwana Hasan.
Then, Abu Bakar with police safety was taken to Hamid Fashions at Indrakput in Narayanganj. Later, he was taken to Bhuigar from where he was abducted on Wednesday.
About 11:00am, the couple reached the SP office from their residence by a police car where Siddique had to go through a medical check-up by a physician.
After the check-up, the doctor, Sheikh M Forhan, told the media that he found bruise marks around Siddique’s eyes, on his nose and wrists as he was blind-folded and his hands were tied-up.
“His blood pressure is quite high. We have given him medicines. But he is out of danger now,” Forhad said.
As he went out of the court buildin after his deposition, Siddique gave answers of several questions from journalists.
Asked about his deposition, the victim said he could not give so much information to the magistrate as he was blindfolded then.
When reporters asked him whether he is feeling secured, Siddique replied in negative saying, “I have to be more careful from now.”
Siddique is the managing director of Hamid Fashion, a Narayanganj-based garment factory owned by Awami League lawmaker and state minister for power Nasrul Hamid Bipu.
