Journalist Mamunur Rashid passes away

Young journalist Mamunur Rashid died while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in the capital on Monday night, reports UNB.

Mamunur Rashid, a senior reporter of Ekushey TV covering the prime minister's beat, breathed his last around 11:30pm, his colleagues said.

He was a student of Dhaka University's mass communication and journalism department.

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina, on Tuesday expressed deep shock and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, Ekushey TV's chief executive officer and chief editor Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, chief news editor Zahidul Islam, senior officials and journalists expressed deep shock at his death.
