Traditional boat race held in Kishoreganj

A traditional boat race was held with much enthusiasm on the Brahmaputra river in Hossainpur upazila of Kishoreganj on Tuesday.  

A total of 10 teams from Kishoreganj, Pakundia, Hossainpur, Katiadi and other upazilas of the district took part in the competition.

After around 20 years, local people of Sidla Saheberchar organised the event.

Addressing the competition as chief guest, Hossainpur UNO Abdullah Al-Mamun handed over two televisions and two mobile phones to the winners of the race.

He said the race was held to rejuvenate folk culture in the area.
