Truck-auto rickshaw collision kills five in Joypurhat

Five people have been killed in a head on collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto rickshaw in Joypurhat’s Khetlal. The accident occurred at Malipara area in Khetlal municipality on Monday 11.00am.

The driver of the CNG-run auto rickshaw is among the five deceased. The other four are the passengers of the auto rickshaw, said the locals. The identities of the deceased couldn’t be confirmed yet.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Khetlal police station Rajibul Islam has confirmed the death of five people. He told Prothom Alo that two people died at the spot while the other three died on the way to hospital.
