CAAB employee detained with 80 gold bars at airport in Chattogram

The Custom Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) officials on Saturday detained an employee of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) with 80 gold bars from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram.

The detainee is Md Belal Uddin—ASG of CAAB.

According to CIID, the market price of those bars weighing 9.2 kilograms is around Tk 50 million.

CIID deputy director Sultan Mahmud told Prothom Alo that a case will be lodged against Belal.
