Shariatpur reports seven more COVID-19 cases

Seven more persons were tested positive for coronavirus infections in Shariatpur, raising the total number of cases in the district to 20.

District civil surgeon office said this during a press briefing on Saturday night.

Among the infected, four are from Naria, two from Bhedarganj and one from Zajira while three are men, according to the civil surgeon office.

Five of the patients are aged between 17 and 25 years while two are aged between 35 and 45 years.

With this, eight persons are infected in Naria, three in Shariatpur sadar, four in Zajira, three in Damudya, and two in Bhedarganj.

Earlier on 4 April, another patient died at Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital in Dhaka.

All the coronavirus infected persons of the district had recently travelled to Shariatpur from Dhaka and Narayaganj, civil surgeon Abdullah Al Murad said.

So far, 384 samples have been taken from various villages of the district. Shariatpur is in lockdown since 15 April.
