37th, 38th BCS exam dates announced

The Bangladesh Public Service Commission on Tuesday announced the dates for different examinations of 37th, 38th, and 39th BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) recruitments.

The viva voce of the 37th BCS will be held on 29 November and the preliminary exam of 38th BCS on 29 December this year.

Besides, PSC will send recommendations to the public administration ministry to amend the 39th BCS rules. As the 39th BCS will be 'special', documents in this regard will be sent to the public administration ministry.

PSC chairman Mohammad Sadik told Prothom Alo. "We are working on more than one BCS at a time to make the procedure fast." The 38th preliminary exam date was changed from 21 to 29 December due to the election of Rangpur city.

37th BCS:

The result of the written exam of 37th BCS was published on 25 October. A total of 5,379 candidates passed the exam. Initially 8,523 out of 243,476 passed the preliminary test held on 30 September. In all, 1,226 first class gazetted officers will be appointed through this BCS exam.

38th BCS:

The application process closed on 10 August. A total of 346,532 have applied to appear in the preliminary exam of the 38th BCS exam through which some 2,024 government cadres will be recruited. Among them 520 general cadres, 549 technical cadres and 955 education cadres will be recruited.

39th BCS

According PSC and health ministry, 4542 assistant surgeons and 250 assistant dental surgeons will be recruited under 39th BCS. More than 5 thousands doctors will be recruited under this BCS, said the health ministry.
