62 held in DMP anti-drug drives
Sixty-two people were arrested in the capital by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police for selling and consuming drugs, reports UNB.
They were apprehended between 6:00am Friday and 6:00am Saturday, during the DMP's special anti-narcotics drives.
DMP Detective Branch and local police conducted separate drives from Friday.
Forty-two cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act with different police stations during this time, said DMP deputy commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
The law enforcers recovered 1,497 yaba pills, 316 grams heroin, 135 bottles of phensedyl, 192 beer cans and 24 injections.
