Popular Bangladeshi band Chirkutt will leave Dhaka on 10 October to perform in Australia for the first time.
“We will take part in ‘Bangladesh Night’ at Sydney on 13 October. We will sing at another programme in Melbourne on 20 October,” said Sharmin Sultana Sumi, vocalist of the band.
The programmes have been arranged by the Bangladeshi residents in Australia. Chirkutt are now sorting out their best songs along with regular practice.
The six-member team along with the sound engineer will return home on 22 October on completion of the 12-day tour.
“This is our first Australia tour. We are very enthusiastic about it. We are eagerly waiting to spend time with the Bangladeshi diaspora there,” said Sumi.
The members will be visiting other places in Australia too. They are scheduled to perform at several concerts back in Bangladesh after their tour Down Under.
