Popular Bangladeshi film star Nusrat Faria is to host a Tk 3 million TV show, Ma vs. Bou (Mother vs. wife). The show will comprise 10 episodes of 15 minutes each.
Nusrat was a TV show host before she began acting in films. She has hosted stage shows occasionally since then, she not host any TV show. She is now back to the small screen with this new show Ma vs. Bou to be aired on Bangabd and Grameenphone Bioscope Channel in January.
Nusrat said the trailer was complete and would be aired on Youtube on Sunday. Tamim Rahman Anshu is the director of the programme. The show will be shot at the Film Development Corporation (FDC) from 17 to 22 December at a stretch.
Asked why she decided on hosting a TV show after such a long time, she said, “It’s a big budget programme. It’s a 10-episode show with a budget of Tk 30 million. So you see it’s not an ordinary programme. The idea is unique. Such a programme was never made before. That’s why I accepted the offer.”
Nusrat also hinted that she may resume her career as a presenter. “I have a five-year contract with Jazz Multimedia. I have taken their permission to do this show (Ma vs. Bou). If I get such offers, I will think of hosting TV shows again.”
Nusrat did not want to elaborate about Ma vs Bou, only saying that a guest would participate along with a mother and her daughter-in-law. It will not be just the story of Bangladesh, but reflect the story of families around the world.
