After completing six phases of chemotherapy in Singapore, Andrew Kishore was all set to return home towards the end of March this year. However, with the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, he in unable to return at the moment.
The popular Bangladeshi playback singer is now undergoing radiotherapy at the Singapore General Hospital.
Speaking to Prothom Alo on Wednesday, Andrew Kishore’s wife Lipika Andrew said even after the chemo, tests showed there were still cancer cells in his body. The physicians decided to start radiotherapy and will continue this treatment throughout April.
After 20 radiotherapy sessions, the physicians will run tests again. If all goes well, Andrew Kishore may return to Bangladesh in May.
The singer is feeling better than before. He is able to walk around and eat normal meals.
Andrew Kishore has been in Singapore since 9 September last year, undergoing treatment for cancer.
