Mabia Akhter has clinched the fifth gold medal for Bangladesh in the ongoing 13th South Asian Games in Nepal on Saturday.
Mabia won gold in the women's 76kg weightlifting category.
She lifted a total of 185kg to secure the top prize.
Mabia lifted 80kgs in snatch and 105 kgs in clean and jerk. In total she lifted 185kg to win second consecutive gold in SA games.
Mabia had also clinched gold in the 63kg weightlifting event at the 2016 SA Games in India. At that tournament, Mabia’s sobbing at the podium while national anthem was being played went viral in social media.
Sri Lanka's BC Priyanthi and Nepal's Tara Devi won silver and bronze medal in the event lifting 182kg and 172kg respectively.
Ealier, Dipu Chakma won gold in taekwondo while Humaira Akther, Marzan Akhter and Al Amin clinched gold medals in karate.
