‘Give me my father back’

“I’ll go to school with father. Mother does not buy me ice-creams. She has no money.”

Hridi Hossain, a kindergarten student and daughter of disappeared Parvez Hossain, who went missing two years ago and never came back, was speaking tearfully to newsmen on Friday at a press conference at the National Press Club.

Families of 19 disappeared persons, who were picked up allegedly by members of law enforcement agencies, organised the press conference to press home their demand for necessary steps to find the victims.The unending wait

Little Hridi, who moved many by her crying for father, also said, “Give me my father back. I’ll go to school with father. Mother does not buy me ice-creams. She has no money. Father will buy me ice-creams, take me to Shishu Park. I don’t see him a long time.”

Hazera Khatun, mother of Sajedul Islam Suman who is the general secretary of Dhaka city BNP’s Ward 38 unit, read out a written statement at the press conference.

“It is our request to prime minister Sheikh Hasina... she can... we are still hopeful... it has been two years... we can’t bear it anymore,” said a crying Hazera.
