Fuels price hike: JU students blocked Dhaka-Aricha highway

A group of students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) blocked the Dhaka-Aricha highway for half an hour, protesting the hike in price of fuel oil by a record margin.

They brought out a demonstration on Sunday around 1:00pm from the university’s Murad Chattor and marched several roads of the university.

Later, the students blocked the Dhaka-Aricha highway, which they withdrew around 1:30pm.

Chhatra Union university sangsad general secretary Tasbibul Goni said the government is working to make ministers and bureaucrats rich, instead of reducing the suffering of people. It is not a matter of concern for the government that how the poor will survive after this hike.
