Ayesha Moni, a two-year old girl, used to play in the alley in front of Gendaria's Sadhana Aushadhalaya. Like other days, she was playing alone there on Saturday afternoon as her parents were in their workplaces. In the evening, locals found her body blood-ridden before a three-storey building there.

According to Ayesha's parents, Md Nahid, 45, owner of the house, raped and then killed the minor girl by throwing her off the second floor of the building.

The victim's uncle, Md Ali, alleged that the locals heard Ayesha’s screams and rushed to the spot, only to find her critically injured.

She, Ali added, was then taken to a local hospital where the physicians declared her dead.

Locals said they caught Nahid but he denied his involvement in the rape or killing.

However, Nahid's daughter, 13, told locals that her father threw the two-year-old girl from their second floor’s balcony.

Victim's father has filed a case with Gandaria police station accusing Nahid, 45 and his brother Liton, 50, over Ayesha's death, said inspector Mahabub Alam (investigation) of the police station.
