Three Bangladeshis among four suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh have been arrested in India’s Kolkata.
West Bengal police’s Special Task Force (STF) detained the JMB men on Tuesday.
The arrested Bangladeshis are Mohammad Ziaur Rahman alias Mohsin, 44, Mamunur Rashid, 33, Mohammad Shahin Alam alias Al Amin, 23 and India’s Rabiul Islam, 35.
On secret information, STF first arrested Mohsin and Mamunur from Shilaidaha Station and later Al Amin and Rabiul from Howrah Station following the information of the formers.
Police said they are members of banned militant outfit JMB.
STF recovered booklets, videos and posters circulating IS ideology, mobile phones and laptops.
The police also said the Bangladeshis took shelter in India to avoid arrest in home country. They then started working to recruit other Indians with the help of Rabiul.
