Nurul Haque beaten up at TSC
Chhatra League carried out an attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad president Nurul Haque and his associates at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) area of Dhaka University.
Gono Odhikar Parishad said over 20 leaders and activists including Nurul Haque have been injured in the attack. Of the injured, ten have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The incident takes place on the road in front of TSC at around 4:30pm on Wednesday.
Getting off motorbikes, Chhatra League leaders chanted slogans saying 'fake, fake. At one stage, they assaulted Nurul Haque and his followers. As Nurul and his followers ran, Chhatra League leaders and activists chased them. Chhatra League leaders assaulted Nurul and his followers again under the metro rail at TSC area.
Nurul Haque went to the campus to join demonstration rally organised by the Chhatra Odhikar Parishad to protest arrest of BUET students, murder of madrasa student Rezaul and attacks on the leaders and activists of the opposition parties.
This programme was scheduled to be held in front of Raju Sculpture in TSC at around 4:00pm.
According to witnesses and video footage of the incident, Chhatra Odhikar Parishad leaders and activists led by Nurul Haque were entering the campus in a procession from Shabagh.
A group of Chhatra League leaders and activists on motorbike appeared in front of the procession when it reached Dutch cafeteria of TSC crossing Raju Sculpture.

As Nurul received head injuries, a portion of Chhatra League leaders and activists tried to stop another portion.
Nurul and his followers ran towards Doel Chhattor. A section of Chhatra League followed Nurul from behind.
Nurul's followers took away from the Doel Chattor.
Those who carried out the attack on Nurul are known as the followers of Dhaka University Chhatra League president Mazharul Kabir and general secretary Tanvir Hasan Shaikat.
Top leaders of different hall units of Chhatra League of the university led the attack.
Receiving news of Nurul's programmes and procession of Chhatra Dal, Chhatra League leaders and activists took positions at different points of the university.
About the attack on Nurul Haque, Chhatra League Dhaka University unit general secretary Tanvir Hasan, speaking to Prothom Alo, said outside terrorists have been planning murder in the campus.
In this regard, two screenshots were seen on Tuesday. Students were protesting against it.
At the time, Nurul Haque entered the campus with some outsiders. They confined students on the road. The students requested them to make the road clear. They had an altercation over the matter. At one stage, Nurul's associates carried out an attack on the students.
