All flight operations, including domestic and international, were suspended from Shah Amanat International airport in Chattogram due to the inclement weather influenced by the cyclone 'Sitrang'.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) said they decided to suspend the landing and takeoff of all flights from this airport from 3:00pm on Monday to Tuesday noon.
According to the meteorology department, the cyclone ‘Sitrang’ may hit on Monday midnight. However, the country's coastal area could experience tidal surges after the evening.
Earlier, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) suspended the operations of vessels on all waterways across the country due to inclement weather.
The suspension took effect at 10:00am on Monday and will remain in force till further notice, said a press release of BIWTA.
