Afsana Khanam, the widow of pilot Abid Sultan, is still not out of danger as her physical condition did not improve following a brain stroke, doctors on Tuesday said.
Afsana is currently under life support at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital at Agargaon in Dhaka. A seven-member medical team led by director of the hospital professor Quazi Deen Muhammad is now monitoring her condition.
Prof Badrul Alam, a joint director of the hospital, told journalists that she is at the Intesive Care Unit (ICU) as her brain had suffered stroke twice.
Afsana’s brother-in-law Imtiaz Ahmed said Abid and Afsana’s 16-year-old son Tanzid Sultan is currently staying with his grandfather at Uttara.
Imtiaz, on behalf of the family, asked everyone to pray for the quick recovery of Afsana.
Abid was buried at Banani Army Graveyard, family sources said.
