A case was filed against an executive magistrate of the district administration for reportedly demanding dowry from his newlywed wife, reports UNB.
Farzana Khanam, wife of assistant commissioner Md Masudur Rahman, filed the case with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
The court summoned Masudur to appear before it on January 29.
According to the case statement, following love affairs, Masudur married Farzana three months back and kept it secret to others, including their relatives.
Two months after their marriage, Masudur demanded Tk 50 lakh from his wife on 29 November and threatened to discard her if she fails to pay the money.
Meanwhile, Masudur said he divorced Farzana on 17 November and she filed the case out of vengeance.
