Ex-mayor of Ctg Mohiuddin Chowdhury dies

Former mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) and city Awami League president ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury passed away at a Chittagong hospital early Friday, reports UNB.

He was 73.

Mohiuddin breathed his last around 3:00am at Max Hospital where he had been on life support since Thursday night, said the deceased’s elder son Mohiul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel.

Earlier, Mohiuddin was taken to the hospital on Thursday evening, said his son-in-law Selim Jahangir.

Later, he was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital around 10:00pm and put on life support.

On 11 November, Mohiuddin Chowdhury was admitted to the ICU of the same hospital as he had been suffering from kidney and heart ailments.

Later, he was shifted to Square Hospital in Dhaka and then taken to Singapore.
