Ex-minister Kalparanjan Chakma passes away

Former minister of Chittagong Hill Tracts affairs and ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) leader Kalparanjan Chakma died at a city hospital on Wednesday.

He breathed his last at Community Medical College Hospital in Moghbazar around 12:00pm, reports UNB.

In a message, prime minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at his death and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Local government, rural development and cooperatives minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain also expressed deep shock at his death, said an official release.
