Family members of death row convicts Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed, two senior opposition leaders, have entered the Dhaka central jail to meet the death row convicts.
Sixteen members of Salauddin’s family arrived at the jail gate around 9:15pm while eleven members of Mojaheed reached the jail gate at about 10:20pm.
Earlier, the prison authorities asked the family members of the death row convicts for a final meet with Salauddin and Mojaheed before execution as their mercy petitions are now in Bangabhaban for the consideration of president Abdul Hamid.
Besides, additional inspector general (prisons) entered the Dhaka central jail around 8:30pm.
