Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Saturday arrested a person in connection with the incident of assaulting two college girls in the capital’s Mirpur area, reports news agency UNB.
According to the RAB, the arrestee is Jiban Karim Babu and he is the main suspect in the incident.
Stalkers allegedly assaulted two female students of BCIC College in Mirpur-1 area for protesting on Wednesday after the twin sisters were stalked at in front of the college.
The stalkers reportedly thrashed the twins, leaving one of the victims with a fractured leg and the other with severe injuries at the waist.
The incident took place when the girls were waiting in front of their college for a bus to return home.
The victims were admitted to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR).
Later, the victims’ father filed a case with Shah Ali police station accusing Jiban Karim in this connection.
