Ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said the issue of Teesta agreement would be discussed with importance during prime minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to India.
"The Teesta agreement is now a matter of time," Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, told reporters after inaugurating a rest house 'Bono Bilash' of Roads and Highway Department (RHD) at Rajendrapur in Gazipur sadar.
Sheikh Hasina went to New Delhi on Friday on a four-day official tour when a host of bilateral deals are expected to be signed between the two neighbouring countries.
Quader said, "We won’t get our legitimate dues by launching propaganda against India. We have to realise our dues maintain friendly relations."
Engineer-in-chief of Bangladesh army major general Md Siddiqur Rahman Sarker, brigadier general Iftekhar Anis, superintendent engineer of RHD Sabuj Uddin Khan and project director of Dhaka-Gazipur BRT Sanaul Haque, among others, were present on the occasion.
