The appellate division of the Supreme Court on Wednesday released its full verdict upholding death penalty for BNP standing committee member Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed.
Earlier on 16 June this year, the appellate division upheld Mojaheed’s death penalty delivered by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 for crimes against humanity during the liberation war.
On 29 July this year, the apex court also upheld the ICT-1 verdict that also awarded capital punishment to Salauddin Quader for war crimes in 1971.
Supreme Court’s registrar general Syed Aminul Islam confirmed the verdict release in both cases to Prothom Alo.
Both the verdicts are also available on the Supreme Court website.
